Some freight will not move as a normal container. DOF Logistics, a licensed freight forwarder and NVOCC, plans those shipments before they are booked: heavy machinery, pieces that are too tall or too wide, and cargo that has to arrive at a job site rather than a warehouse dock.
Ocean and rail are the usual main trip. Air is for pieces that fit an aircraft and cannot wait. A move can have the shipper, the pickup, and the delivery in three countries. The file stays with DOF in the United States. Partners handle the other ends.
